I love to get rid of things. I am not a pack rat. In fact, I’m not sure what animal would be the opposite of a pack rat, but whatever it is, that is me. (In the first few months of marriage, I even threw out our marriage license because it seemed like clutter on the counter. Hubby had to riffle through two bags of trash and finally discovered it under some raw chicken scraps. We have it all moldy in a plastic bag…yes…still.) My husband on the other hand–definitely a pack rat. But in this current season of less that we’ve unwillingly fallen into, I am finding a whole new appreciation for waste not want not.
Next, he made three cuts in the plastic to create four “legs” on each triangle(ish).
He then stuffed a toilet paper roll with paper towel to create the spider’s body.
He wrapped packing tape around the body of the spider and the legs until they were firmly secure. Â Then he covered the packing tape with black athletic tape.

Oh my word…TWO crafty parents??? Those are some lucky little boys! 🙂 Tell your hubby he did a great job! If I ever have left over rain gutter scraps…now I'll know what to do with them!

I've been here stalking for a couple weeks. I'm thinking I found your blog via one of Kimba's DIY days. And I LOVE what you did with the boys room. I did the beadboard wallpaper in my bathroom and in my kitchen for a backsplash. The raingutter bookshelves are now on my to-do list for in my boys room!
Love it!
