I saw this picture pinned on Pinterest and thought, “Ooohhh, I love it!” And then I thought, “Wait a minute, that’s Melissa’s kitchen, isn’t it?” Yes it is! Although there are myriads of gorgeous kitchens pinned on Pinterest, I especially love the ones that are attainable and within my budget. Sigh. I swear that with each passing day I’m one step closer to picking up the paint brush and attacking my maple cabinets with white paint. Someday…

I love the kitchen curtains, where did you find them?
Melissa,
Would you mind sharing the brand/color of the wall paint that you used? I think it’s beautiful and I believe I’ve found my inspiration for my kitchen redo! THANKS!
Sincerely,
(the other) Melissa
I want to put a shelf over my kitchen sink too. Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing!
I picked up a brush several years ago and painted our walnut cabinets in a bright, crisp white… And this year I will be repainting my cabinets…in a glossy, modern black. It was originally what I had in mind – but I let doubt and family members with well-meaning advice talk me out of it. Well…”making my house a home again” has warranted revisiting this choice. It should be interesting. 😀
Get out the paint brush – something magical might happen!
LOVE those colors, and the milk glass collection!!! 🙂 We’re starting a kitchen overhaul right now!! We will be sharing some pics of the progress so far very soon!!! 🙂
thank you, dear Beth!! Uhhh…I’m trying to finish up the last odds and ends on it~I hate the end of the project wrap ups.
I love her kitchen. I have painted cabinets in the last two homes. The first we did white on the perimeter and black on the island. We loved it! The second I only got around to the bathroom vanities and the island before we sold. All of that was in black, but the plan was distressed and glazed cream for the rest. Here, we have dark cherry. They are builder grade (blech) but no painting for us. 🙁 We rent. So I will ive vicariously through others.
I want the courage to paint my cabinets white!!!! I am looking at them with loathing right now….just seems like such a HUGE project.
I love her pottery on the top shelf, too! I had no regrets about painting my cabinets. It was a royal pain to do, but so worth it. Ours were basic and cheap oak and not as nice as yours… but it made such a difference in the feel of the space! Go for it!
Hi Beth-
I love what Melissa did to her kitchen. That light was ingenious!!!! It took me 8 years to finally get the courage to paint my builder grade oak cabinets white. That was 9 years ago. I started with my island. Loved it and went from there. I have always loved white cabinets and don’t know why I didn’t paint them the minute I moved into my house.
My best – Diane
I just die over a bay window in a kitchen like that! The school house light is a nice touch too.
OO I like her curtains! Go ahead and paint them 🙂 We recently painted our dark VERY dark cabinets & what a difference. They are on my site 🙂
I love this kitchen! What a crack up that you pinned it before you realized it was Melissa’s 🙂
