Perhaps it is because this past winter was so positively dreadful, but I honestly can’t remember loving and enjoying a summer more than I am this one. I don’t want to miss a moment of outdoor living! These next few short months, I am determined to work, play, dine, and entertain outdoors as much as possible. We live in the city and our “yard” (if you can call it that) is the size of a small bedroom, but that doesn’t stop me from entertaining outdoors. If you too are tight on space, I want to share a quick and easy outdoor beverage station idea. I created this drink station using a few unconventional items I had around the house.
Can you guess what that piece of furniture used to be? If you guessed sewing table you are correct! I took an old sewing table, a shoe organizer, and a styrofoam cooler to whip up this outdoor beverage center that is both functional and cute!
TIP: Don’t be afraid to think outside the box when entertaining outdoors. Furniture you use indoors such as a bookcase, chest of drawers, or even an old sewing table can temporarily work as a food and beverage station.”
The Hammered Glass Twin Beverage Dispensers are from Kirkland’s and are absolutely perfect for entertaining. I love the dual dispensers, cute chalkboard signs, and nice tall stand. For the occasion, I made Mint Lemon Limeade and a Strawberry Spritzer. Don’t they look so pretty next to each other? I placed decorative paper straws in a mason jar for those who prefer to sip their drinks. They also double as an easy and inexpensive way of making things feel more festive. 🙂
In the middle of the sewing table (where the sewing machine used to reside), I placed an inexpensive foam cooler filled with ice and Pellegrino. I painted the backside of the sewing table lid with chalkboard paint and wrote “hydration station” in my favorite font. Chalkboards just make everything a notch cuter!
And here is my favorite part of the entire beverage center! On the sides of the sewing table, I attached a decorative shoe organizer which I cut in half. I placed glasses on one side of the shoe organizer and silverware on the other side.
This beverage center was the perfect solution for serving a group in a tiny space.
For those of you who would prefer to purchase a beverage center, take a look at Kirkland’s outdoor storage & accent furniture. I love these two pictured below! The Bronze Wicker & Metal Beverage Station would work great in a small space. And although the Distressed Natural Planter Table is meant to be used as a potting station I would totally use it for beverages! Personal tip regarding Kirkland’s online stock: In my experience their online stock sells out fast! If you see something you like, you can’t wait and expect it to remain in stock. It will be gone.
