How to Make an Asparagus Vase

We finally had ONE warm day here yesterday, and I celebrated with dinner on the roof deck!  I thought I’d share a fresh and quick idea for your spring and summer flower arrangements…an asparagus vase!
1.  Arrange your flowers in a mason jar.

2.  Line up your asparagus at the flowering end.

3.  Cut evenly to the size of your jar.

4.  Place a rubber band around your jar and just slip in the asparagus one at a time around the jar perimeter.

5.  Cover up the rubber band with a pretty grosgrain ribbon and enjoy!

  9. I took mine off after we ate dinner and put them in vase in the fridge. I plan to eat all of them! Our grocery store was having a buy one get one special on asparagus this week :).

  10. EEK…I love the look of it….but are you able to use the asparagus afterward? It's kind of pricey where I live, and look at it as sort of a treat….so the only way I could do it without guilt, is to be able to quickly roast/steam it after. Thoughts?

  20. great idea! it is really cute but i don't think i could bring myself to do it. i would just be thinking about "that asparagus looks so delicious and why in the world did i put it on the mason jar and not roast it in the oven???"
