Found this post while searching mudrooms. Great roundup! The picture with the built-in vents (for heat) gave me a great idea to hide my baseboard heat 🙂
Did you ever post pics of your completed mudroom? I LOVE these ideas and was curious to see how yours ended up! 🙂
I do like the mudrooms you posted! I linked this to my mudrooms and entryways post too today – for inspiration!
i am so loving that torquoise one with the corbels – i am totally going to steal that idea!!
I have a teeny little "mudroom" that has quite a few closets – i recently ripped out one closet and turned it into open shelving – love it!!

Hi Beth! your blog is lovely! i love all the mudrooms but you're right they look much prettier when all the muddy boots aren't in it! ours get alot of use. during the winter it's near impossible to keep looking pretty! have a great weekend! susan
I have a tight little mudroom and it is on my makeover to-do list. I am loving the wire bins in the potting shed photo though!
I need a mudroom, but neither of my doors opens to any usable space. I am planning to dismantle the closet by the front door to provide more open space. Right now there is this tiny entry with a tiny closet, whose door opens the wrong way, into the traffic flow, so everyone gets bottled up right at the door. I'm getting rid of the door and reappointing the space with a small bench and hooks. I really prefer hooks because they are faster.
I have the same dilemma as you! I would love for our mudroom to look like the dreamy ones in the magazines, but my room is like a tunnel and I have 3 kids with stuff that just doesn't match my decorating! lol Can't wait to see your reveal! (thanks for stopping by my blog, and for your nice comment!)

Those are beautiful!! I wish my entry way was just a little bit bigger. I would so do the DIY one for $324. lol
I'm anxious to see your mudroom makeover. I have a large closet next to the garage I'd like to make look more mudroom like. It currently has lots of shelves, but I'd like more covered storage so it doesn't look messy with everything thrown in there…like now.
Hi Beth, I love mudrooms too! I'm Ronique from Stagetecture and I see some of my fav mudrooms you've featured here. Unfortunately my laundry room area is too small – as I would love to incorporate a mudroom in my home!
I can't wait to see your pics… I drool over everyone's mudrooms.. in hopes one day will be me too!
I love these inspirations! I don't have a mudroom but I will someday!
What inspiring pictures – I can't get over the IKEA one – amazing for that price! I had to laugh because with messy kids, my mudroom will never look like those…but it is fun to dream! I just recently posted some pictures of my mudroom/laundry room which is still in progress. We are changing the tile floors in there – to something darker (that will hide the mud!). It is great to see these inspirational pictures. I may do more now than just change the floors!
Wow!! How much do I wish I had a mud room or entry way now?! Gorgeous inspiration
Love the variety of ideas here! I have no space for a mudroom, but have often thought of preempting a part of my garage to function as such. I'll just live vicariously through you lucky mud room decorating gals!
Such great ideas! I just finished redecorating our mudroom (http://lehiwrights.blogspot.com/2011/01/mud-room-before-and-after.html) and these give pictures have given me some great ideas on putting in some additional hooks. Thank you!
All of these beautiful pictures make me wish I had a mudroom! I don't… It's really just a door into the living room… Sad day. Oh well..
Beth,
These are all beautiful and inspiring. I especially like the one with the dog bed built in although Scout would never be happy unless we were sitting in it with him! Can't wait to see your mud room!
Your Friend,
Deborah
I really love my house, but the one thing it's missing is a mudroom. And with three boys and two dogs, a mudroom would be a really, really nice thing to have. Oh, well.
You know whose mudroom I really love? Chris's. Those beautiful white cubbies. . . I drool on my computer every time I see them. But I'm sure you'll come up with something marvelous!
I bet your mudroom is simply fab and I can't wait to see it!
We did our mudroom this past summer and are so happy with the way it turned out. Now that we've lived with it a while there are one or two things I need to change like removing the cell phone charging station that no one uses and putting hooks and baskets up there instead.
You can see it here

I like open storage for the reason of little kids. If they can't see it they won't wear it. We have an open pantry cuboard that used to be in my parents kitchen. I love it. We put all our shoes in it and out of season gloves, hats, and scarves up above. You can see a picture of it in progress on my blog. I'm needing to paint it. Grat job on finding all of the mudrooms to show. Love the ideas
I love all of the mudrooms you've shown! I would LOVE to have a mudroom space. The only place that I'd be able to do any of these would be in my kitchen. It would work there to add some type of lockers/cubbies and bench seating. I've always thought of doing it but we are probably moving soon so I won't. I can't wait to see your mudroom.
the photos are lovely. i have a space that is very similar to some of these photos and when it is organized and i have just tidied it up it is the best looking space out there. the reality of the situation is that the space is really to store coats, bags, shoes, boots, sports bags, etc. and when all of that is added to the mix it just does not look as nice. it is very functional though and great for little hands because they can see things and reach things. we used some hooks that i would highly recommend to maximize your storage. i can send you a pic if you like. i would also recommend drawers at the bottom for shoes instead of baskets. the baskets never hold enough…especially as little feet become bigger feet. i am really looking forward to seeing your space.
What wonderful photos. The 1st picture is so me. I wish I had room for a mudroom, I've always wanted one.
I'm so excited to see your mudroom reveal, how exciting!
Have a lovely day! XOXO ~Liz
Love all of those designs!!

Have an awesome Thursday!

Great inspiration pics, Beth! I can't wait to see yours! Our mudroom was so small before we added onto that side of our house. It also housed our laundry area, and with a back door and the door to the garage right there, it made for a lot of tripping over boots in the Winter months. I would have loved something the size of these mudrooms when my kids were younger.
I love them all. If I showed you a pic of my 'mud room' you'd run screaming in the other direction lol. No really, our 'mud room' is the attatched shed on the back side of our house, it runs the whole length and since our back door opens from there directly into our kitchen we have no place for boots, hats, coats etc. so I keep calling that space a 'mud room' but since it isn't heated we never put things out there haha too cold! But one day that will be on top of my 'to beautify & USE' list 🙂 Can't wait to see yours!

Believe it or not, being a California girl my whole life, I have never heard of a mudroom. But I LOVE it! I want one now!
Totally wish I had a "mudroom" I have a weird hall/room thingy where the kids stash their coats but usually stuff gets stuffed all over my dining room and piano as they are the closest to the entry…EEEK! I NEEEEEED a mudroom! I'd love to have some of these beautiful open closets but know in reality it will never look like the photos! well maybe if I staged it….hmmmmmm
I'm excited to see your mudroom reveal. Your blog is fantastic, I've been referring it to all my friends and now they are all hopelessly addicted to decor blogs. 🙂 Blessings!
can't wait to see your mudroom, we have one and I love it – double sided – so hooks and benches on both sides 🙂 – beadboard backs with 4 hooks and then one side is a bench that opens and the other has three cubbies with baskets. I really should take pictures of my house and put it on the blog! 🙂
I just spent the afternoon cleaning out and organizing my mudroom so this post is quite timely! I can't wait to decorate mine in the spring (it's part of the garage and it's cooooooold out there right now! Thanks for all the inspirations….look forward to seeing yours next week!
I love this post! You did a fab job of putting together pics of some really interesting and terrific mudrooms! Happy New Year! Angie xo
I can't wait!! I want a mud room so badly, I keep trying to think of a space I could carve out to do a bench and hooks like that!!

I totally know what you mean that it will never really look like that. We newly have a mudroom, and it is always visually chaotic, it is also our laundry room and "command central" desk. The one thing I keep telling myself is at least it all has a place to go now and it is contained in that room!
Can't wait to see what you do! I am sure it will be great.
Take care, Laura
I don't like the idea of open shelving. I like baskets and doors. Unless of course you can match everything so it looks symmetrical and consistent. 🙁 Impossible unless your're living in a PB catalog.
I wish I had room for some of these ideas. Actually I like so many of these I could have more than one mud room in my home. The Decor pad room leaves me salivating! The wood plank walls and the color of the unit are beautiful.
Okay I will just add it to my list of someday maybe when I am richer and have a bigger house and I am more organized and. . . .
Thanks for sharing all these!
Oooh, those are all fabulous, if ONLY I had a bright white mudroom in my home too! Can't wait to see what you do, I'm sure it will be fab!

I'm laughin' and lovin' School Bus Yellow & Camo!…*Lynne*
I have a "mudspot" lol. One day I'll have an actual mudroom. But, right now it is a spot. It's all organized and everything finally. I added a little hook today that matches the bigger ones, for my son to learn to hang up his coat. Here's my mudspot for now:)

I can't wait to see it. I don't have a mudroom, but I have a laundry room with a closet. I want to make that closet into a mini "mudroom". Really it will just be a place to store shoes, mittens, coats, etc. I'd like to make a bench to sit on too. We'll see if I ever get around to it!
