On my recent vacation to North Carolina’s Outer Banks, I found so many beautiful and interesting shells. I just adore shells. They completely fascinate me. So, I decided to try my hand at jewelry making and showcase their full beauty.
Here is what my kitchen counter looks like right now. Yes, I have a craft room but somehow I always migrate down here!
These were so much fun to make (that is once the holes in the shells were drilled). Ugh. I broke three shells before I perfected the technique. The shells get hot and crack, so need to be dipped in water frequently. I also had much better luck with the Dremel on low speed, working at a side angle with an in and out motion.
And here they are! I so hope you like them because they are all for sale! The necklaces are on 18″ chains and have sterling silver charms.

(Also because of the variations in shells, I won’t be taking any custom orders.) These are all first come, first serve, and I will post “sold” over the pic once they’re spoken for. Hey Beth, these are gorgeous. I have some of these shells, too. The thin ones are called jingle shells, and the really smooth ones are shell shards, but the ones with all the holes might be petrified lightning. I'd have to show my husband to be sure, he is the expert. The OBX is famous for that. In case you wanted to know this lol Beautiful pieces, you did well. Cheers
