Perhaps it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas at every store display in town, but let’s slow down and enjoy the rest of fall! Today we are going to explore some fresh and fun ways to incorporate some non-traditional colors into your Thanksgiving tablescape and fall decor. Pantone is the leading authority on color and each fall and spring they choose ten colors to inspire designers in fashion and home decor. I put together the mood board below using home furnishings in each of the ten colors for this year.
What a fun collection of colors! At first glance, the ten colors might not look very fallish, but just look at all the colors captured below when I place them next to this photograph of mums. Almost all of the colors are happily and harmoniously represented.
Since most of us aren’t looking to redecorate entire rooms in this season’s hottest colors, we can still be on trend in our seasonal decor. I have put together four fall collages showcasing color combinations that you can use to accessorize this year’s Thanksgiving display.
Dark gray, violet, and rose with a touch of chartreuse look lovely and romantic when paired together. To achieve the same look at home, use green and purple hydrangeas as a centerpiece. Wrap lavender dyed corn-husks around votives, paint pumpkins in corresponding shades, and find complementary table linens to complete the look.
Thanksgiving tablescapes in dark brown, chartreuse, mustard and blue look chic, fresh, and fabulous! Peacock feathers, succulents, gilded and velvet pumpkins, and hand-painted sticks are some of the fantastic decor ideas to borrow in order to recreate this look at home.
I typically reserve the colors of fuchsia and chartreuse for spring, but just look at how lovely they look in the following fall decor! Pink painted pumpkins, green acorns, moss covered accessories, and flower-filled urns are sure to brighten any Thanksgiving!
What if you want a rainbow of color on your tablescape this Thanksgiving? Well, you can do that too! Have fun combining different patterns of bright colors in your table linens, create a felt wreath for your hutch, sew together a garland of felt leaves to use as a runner down the table, or make adorable fabric acorns to use as napkin rings.
I hope you feel inspired to think outside the box this Thanksgiving! Whether you choose to use a cornucopia of color or just a few, your family and friends are bound to remember the colorful tablescape you created just for them.

Great collection of colors! I love the bold blues and greens myself. A nice jewel tone makes for a cozy but fun holiday I think.
