Chocolate Business Cards {brand}

I just got back from a 5-day-whirlwind trip of setting up, hosting, and speaking at the Haven Conference. I am so proud of our Haven Team! We worked our butts off for over a year to pull this thing together and it was such a thrill to see it all come to fruition! I spoke twice on Thursday and twice on Friday and all sessions were well attended and ran relatively smoothly. I’m so incredibly tired right now, but I’ve missed all of you over here and thought I’d do a quick post showing you my business cards. I set out to create a memorable brand idea for my cards, and when I saw these adorable Green & Black chocolate bars I knew exactly what I wanted to do!

Several months ago I received a credit for some free MOO MiniCards. These cards are cute, but they are tiny and easily lost in the shuffle. I thought it would be fun to pass them out at Haven attached to something. Hmmmmm….but what?

Uh…chocolate of course? Who doesn’t like chocolate? Well, actually, I met a few people who didn’t like chocolate, but the majority of sponsors and attendees were thrilled to be given their choice of mini-chocolate bar/card :).

brandI placed a business card over each chocolate bar, secured them together with a cute polkadot ribbon, and used the same packaging that the mini-bars came in to store my sweet cards.

I used photos from my blog that I felt described my personality. They weren’t even necessarily my very best photos, but I felt that they told the story of who I am and shared some insight into my brand.

I had around 100 chocolate business cards and managed to easily get rid of all of them ;). I also managed to show some restraint and not snarf them down myself. Miraculous!

If you’re wanting more details on how Haven 2012 went, I’ll post soon! But right now I need to try and catch up on my lack of sleep. (I think I slept a total of four hours each night for the past 5 days and it has definitely caught up with me.) Sleep is overrated when you are at a blog conference but not when you get home!

  1. Plus, the school decides the time frame, the where and the when,
    and who is going to teach the session. They need to learn about the different disciplines as well as a solid understanding
    of what’s happening. Sometimes the relationship between the learner and
    the teacher is of paramount importance.

  2. So glad I got to meet you to thank you for the great post you did for first timers at a blog conference. Your cards were adorable and the chocolate scrumptious! Thanks for all your hard work too! Hope to do it again!

  3. Ha, ha. I came here in search of a blog hop party and chocolate caught my eye… need I say more? Yes, I believe that everyone like chocolate and it would be great if some were attached to every business card that I distribute! 🙂 Have a good week!

  4. What a GREAT idea!! Hard to wrap my mind around those who don’t like chocolate, wish my family didn’t like chocolate, more for me…ha ha ha!! Can’t wait to see ALL your pics 🙂

  6. Definitely the sweetest business card idea. 🙂 It was such a pleasant surprise when I found the little bar in my bag on my long journey home. I had forgot I had tossed it in there for later. I am linking to you in my recap post tomorrow highlighting a few neat business card ideas. 🙂

  7. Oh, man! 🙁 I didn’t get one of your yummy cards 🙂

    But I did attend your sessions – both of them were great! Came home and checked a few vignettes I had up to see if they had a V or a L 🙂

    So glad I got to meet you, Beth!
