I wanted to share with you my lovely Christmas mantel and family room and the last installment of my 2015 Christmas home tour! If you missed the tour, be sure to check out the “related posts” at the end of this post to see the rest of my home. I have loved using reds and plaids in my Christmas color palette this year. For the mantel, I wanted these gorgeous rusty letters from Birch Lane to take center stage! I live in a 4-story row home in the city and our main level is long, expansive and skinny. Here is a bit of perspective on our living room in relation to the eating area and kitchen.
I kept the Christmas vignettes on the end tables and coffee table very simple this year. My fillable lamp is filled with wood chips I cut a few years ago.

My couch is the leather Collins sectional from Lazy Boy and we love it. It’s so easy to keep it clean and has held up the abuse of two boys and two dogs (and one husband) beautifully. And no, the pillows never stay on the couch. The dogs and boys have something against toss pillows and insist they all stay on the floor!
Tartan Plaid Throw | Red Toss Pillows
I tossed some red ornaments in my rope cloche and added some greenery from the yard to decorate this end table. You just can’t go wrong by trapping things under glass—looks great every time! 😀
And look how cute Pippin looks perched on the back of my couch. Both of my Pomeranians sleep like puppy-cats on the back of furniture. It cracks me up!
I love the Christian symbolism of my olive branch garland and wreath with my peace letters!
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government will be upon his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. –Isaiah 9:6″
