Earlier today I showed you my cage lighting and I let you know that if my plan worked to change out that Tiffany globe I would share it with you. If not, we would never speak of it again! Well…I’m speaking baby!
I had this wire basket from the Christmas Tree Shop (I think it was around $5-$6).
I knew I could use it for this project! Okay, so…I hoped I could use it. Originally, I had wanted to copy my idol, Heather Chadduck, and make something like this….
….but that would require me to buy another fixture and change it out and blah, blah, blah…I just wanted easy and cheap today. So, I took the basket and added some wires in the middle of the circle as shown below. Then I opened the center of the wires and slipped it over the bulby part of my fixture.
I needed to add a small wire to the right side to balance the fixture, but you can’t even see it. That was it! New light in a matter of minutes!
Okay, try and imagine white cabinets, beadboard walls, and burlap curtains as you look at the light. Nice eh?
The lighting (no pun intended) is horrible in this picture, but you get the idea…
I love it. It’s like a little lighted-up egg basket in my kitchen!
Oh yes, and we’re having a Mantel/Vignette party tomorrow!!!! Old posts are more than acceptable so come back tomorrow and link-up!

I love the cage lighting! I wish we had a Christmas tree store that had things that inexpensive…where are they usually found?…Did you have a problem with glare from the light bulbs? Blessings! I am trying to look for inspiration because we are in process of buying a 70’s house and I don’t like 70’s decor!;)
Sooooo"COOL"…thanks so much for sharing these! Hope you have a FUN weekend.
Blessings,
Linda
Your wire lights are gorgeous, and I love that you totally did it yourself! 🙂

Beautiful! Love it!
I love it! I can totally picture your finished kitchen. I am talking myself into painting my cabinets white right now (have been for about 2 years though).
Great look!
Love it, glad to see you have your mojo back!
I am thoroughly convinced that you are amazing. I am so impressed! Thanks for sharing.
Cute Cute Cute!!!!! Look at you go girl!
Both of the fixtures are great. I was looking for something unique for the laundry room, and I might just have to try this. Thanks for sharing. Jackie
I also was inspired by Heather Chadducks light. See this post:

So cool! I'm especially in love with the pendant light/s! Those cage shades are so interesting. Is the glare from the bulbs a non issue?
