Welcome to the chalkboard paint party! I have to admit that I procrastinated on my chalkboard project and then it ended up not going so well. I had to quickly come up with a Plan B, and here it is! I had an old pegboard in the basement which wasn’t being used and a vinyl I won as a giveaway…almost a year ago…which needed to be used! I slapped some chalkboard paint on my pegboard, rubbed the vinyl on top, and now have a cute growth chart for my boys.
Superman, who had just saved a Triceratops from the deathly jaws of a T-Rex, was kind enough to fly in and allow us to capture his mighty height.
And the roaring baby dino below was barely standing still long enough to measure. I think he’s a very rare Cuteasaurus and they are known for their camera-shyness!
I think it will be fun for the boys to watch those chalk lines become higher and higher! And I have a sneaky feeling that I will grow a little bit sadder as they do :(.
Okay, enough of the sentimentalism…now it’s your turn! Here’s the linky 401 blah, blah, blah…
- Link back to this post please even if you are linking to an older post.
- Be sure your post somehow relates to chalkboards or chalkboard paint. This is a CHALKBOARD linky peeps. Random linkys will be deleted.
- Try and visit others and leave comments because mingling is fun and comments make people’s day!

Hi Beth!
I am so late to the party, but just now found out about it from Nanny Kim at Spindle Cottage!
Your boys are adorable and the wall chart is genius!!
Wish I'd had one when my girls were growing-all I had was a door frame, and I had to leave that at the house when we moved 😉
I love your blog!
Hugs and blessings to you as you make your home!

Love your growth chart! I've been planning to do one for my little guy – never thought about using chalkboard paint for it. Very cool!
I saw your comment on my blog that my link didn't work – I think I figured it out but I had to just add another thumbnail. Is there a way for me to delete the first one?

Love the growth chart. I don't have any pics of a chalkboard project what wanted to share an idea that's going to be in my latest new construction project. We are doing sliding barn doors on all of the closets in the kids rooms so they will be flat on the wall when open (since they'll probably always be open.) When I was spec'ing all of the interior doors I came across this new product from Masonite. http://www.masonite.com/productPages_InteriorDoors_Detail.php?doorID=PAN-CRN-DR-1PCB-XXX-1-80-MDF-SM I thought chalk board darn doors would make a great place for the kids to hang artwork, make notes, etc. Instead of forking out the dough for the premade chalkboard doors we're going to use some old doors from my client's previous home and paint the panels with magnetic chalk board paint. Now the kids will have a funtional message center in their rooms and a sliding closet door that won't get in the way of all of the fun.

What a great idea! Thank you for the encouragement to be a bit more creative with chalkboard paint.
A and Z are such cuties! Yes, you'll grow a little sadder with each inching-up of those lines. But big boys are wonderful, too. In fact, I can guarantee that you'll love having big boys! 🙂 But you're gonna need a lot more lines at the top of that pegboard.

Well, it's kind of old, but I linked up something! That dinosaur project is absolutely adorable. Jackson would have loved that when he was the boys' age. It's perfect!
