Fall Barn Decorating with Purple Pink Fuschia Fall Flowers

Over the summer, our shed received a fresh coat of white paint. This was a big change from the previous barn red! While I liked the red just fine, I was excited to see the barn match our home’s white siding. We used Valspar Barn & Fence Paint in white which is an oil-based paint designed for the job. Using a paint sprayer would have been easiest, but I didn’t want the mess and hassle of cleaning out oil-based paint from my paint sprayer, so we accomplished the job with just a roller and brush. I absolutely love how it turned out! My flowers really pop against the white and it’s a much more versatile backdrop to decorate for all seasons.

Pink & Purple Fall Container Planter Ideas

I have several pink hydrangea, rhododendron, and purple liriope in the front and back of the house that bloom through October. I decided to simply embrace the color palette already given to me and use it as my inspiration for fall planters. Here are the flowers I used in my fall container planters:

• Purple mums
• Star Jasmine (vine)
• Sedum
• Creeping Jenny (filler)
• Ornamental Cabbage
• Red Amaranth

I combined a mixture of real and faux pumpkins at the base of my containers to complete the fall look. The faux pumpkins do okay out in the rain, but they can mildew so I won’t leave them out all season. We aren’t supposed to have rain for another week, so I’ll enjoy them until then!

I couldn’t resist taking a bunch of pretty shots of the barn from every angle!

The Pomeranians wanted to join in the photo fun, so I had my husband snap this picture of us. The barn is now the perfect backdrop for photo sessions which will be fun this Christmas.
