The Good Mood Board {Living Room Edition}

I am honored to be participating once again in Remodelholic’s mood board blog hop party! If you are visiting from Cassity’s place, welcome to Home Stories A to Z!

The basic premise of this party is just to show off elements we’d love to have in a gorgeous living room. Cassity encouraged us to work from an inspiration image—a shoe, outdoor scene, actual living room, etc.—and go from there. However, I like to create as I go and make it up as I go along. I am a firm believer in finding inspiration from images and objects when decorating, but with Pinterest, blogs, and magazines as some of my best “friends” I have so many images lodged in my brain it’s impossible to pick just one as the inspiration behind the design. So I just added items to my room design as they caught my eye.

Want to see the final product? Of course you do!

I think my design looks very Ballards-esque although that’s not intentionally what I was going for. I wanted a living room that looked classy, neutral, warm, cozy, worn, nature-inspired, and soothing. Below is a screenshot of all of the different items I used to create my living room.

I hope you enjoyed my design. Be sure to click on the #3 below to visit The Handmade Home next and see her spectacular living room creation!

  1. That is beautiful, but then I picture my 3 cats, 2 dogs, husband and son (who both have asperger’ syndrome) in that room ….. lol

  2. i love the striped rug and the checked chairs! very cozy indeed…all of the subtle textures just make me want to curl up on the sofa and watch the lights on the tree twinkle! VERY pretty!!

  3. Beth, I really love your style! I love how it is so calm and collected! The lines of that sofa are so great. I also love the container the tree is in. I need to do this in my living room! Thank you so much for participating, I can’t wait to do it again in January! Hope you are wanting to try it out!
