This Georgian row home is PERFECT for me! I’ll take it with the topiaries included please.
The wallpaper is a bold move in this kitchen, but I really like it.
And finally, the true inspiration photo from Rhoda’s blog. I LOVE this office. I want to just replicate every item and call it my own. Well, maybe a giant H or B instead of the R and I’d get rid of the green vase by the printer, but that’s about it.
So, my friend’s front room looked like this BEFORE. She said they never sat in here and she felt it was lacking passion. She wanted some color, warmth and functionality. I suggested an office/playroom done in green and black. After some back and forth, she realized that they don’t really need an office and would rather have a playroom/sitting area. Let’s call it a drawing room for mommies.
So, this is what she has come up with so far and I am in love with it!!! Just look at her monogrammed window treatment and that gorgeous damask chair. She wasn’t too sure about the chair (notice it still has a tag), so I hope it’s still there. My friend, you know who you are, nicely done! I can’t wait to see the rest and I would love to watch our kiddos play together while sipping some java in your inviting mommy-friendly play room! Kid-friendly drawing room? Whatever you call it, I love it!
Green and Black
Hi everyone, all eleven of you :). I missed you! I am back from a fantastic family staycation and am ready to start blogging again. One may think from my blog title that I’m talking chocolate today. Given my passion for it (addiction?) it would be a likely assumption. However, today I thought I’d tell you a bit about my love affair with color. Many of the decorating blogs I follow are in love with white and beige and greige and only rare, subtle touches of color seem to be “in”. While I appreciate subtlety (probably because I lack it in every way), it’s just not me. I am in love with color and no matter how hard I try to be subdued in a decorating project, it just doesn’t work for me. I always want to play around with more color!
So when a friend recently asked for my decorating advice on her front room, I jumped at the opportunity to play out my green, black, and white fantasy. What? Why are you looking at me like that? Don’t you fantasize about colors too? Well, here, I’ll help you out with some visuals.
I love the black and white damask runner against the green tablecloth in this wedding tablescape.
Anybody else want to send me their pics and let me play out some of my other color fantasies? I have plenty to go around. All of the decorating fun with none of the expense or work, works for me!

My downstairs bathroom has been those colors for about 4 years now. This year I added family art to make it a gallery and a few avian touches as well. You've been inspiring me lately to action. I'll take pics and send them on.

I totally agree with you about the lack of color in a lot of decorating blogs though the designs are great. I love the green and black together.
