Although my boys have yet to meet a playground they didn’t like, they are just as pleased playing with the sticks, stones, acorn shells, or pine cones scattered around each playground. (Shoot, even the mulch and the dirt beneath them holds some fascination!) The weather here in Central PA has been absolutely glorious, so we’ve been hitting the playgrounds pretty hard. Asher & Zephy treat these expeditions as only the finest connoisseurs of playgrounds and parks can. They sample the bouquet of the playground mulch. Then, they determine which slide to go down based on its intensity and hue. Next, they drink in all of the wet, earthy smells and savor the sweet aromas of freshly snapped sticks. And finally they taste (literally) the salty and metallic rocks which are scattered around the park.
I thought I’d take you on a picture walk so you can experience all the simple joys of little boys!
My little adventurers braving the unknowns that lurk in the tunnel…
Zephy, bewildered that he made it through alive!
But he’s just as happy to munch on some mulch while big brother does some sliding.
“Rooaaarrrrr….I am Super Asher and if you come near me I’ll hit you with my stick!”
“AAaaaaaaa!!! Get me off, Mommy, there’s a bug!!!” (We’re going through a major bug-phobic-stage right now.)
Sampling on the bounty of rocks.
Aw-yeah baby, I’ve hit the Mother Load!
“Come on Zephan, let’s go see that ‘barn’.”
But first, let’s stop and look at this cool tree and throw things into its holes….
But wait, look…Mommy, Mommy it’s a cool riding lawnmower! Zephan do you see him??? Mommy, what’s that man doing on the lawnmower? Is he going to cut grass??? Can we go see him!!???
No, I don’t want to see him. I want to run through that “barn”. (Gotta love all the covered bridges throughout Central PA.)
“Now I’m going to be silly,” while Zephy bonks his head in attempts to get untangled from the chains.

Christy, so glad to hear that you were entertained :)! (Thanks for taking the time to let me know.) If you feel like it, find my post entitled “Shopping for Breasts”. I think it’s under January 08. It’s my personal favorite :).

Hi! This is Christianne’s friend, Christy. I linked to your blog from hers and just wanted you to know that you have greatly entertained me this evening. I should’ve gone to bed a while ago, but I was sucked into reading way too much of your blog. Your humor and honesty are refreshing. The bird poop made me laugh out loud, much to the irritation of my sleeping husband, I’m sure.
