My little sister Christianne@Little Page Turners made some homemade marshmallow bunny peeps following a recipe and directions from Martha Stewart. They were so cute that I was inspired to make something similar substituting meringue for the marshmallow. ย I used this recipe from Joy of Bakingย for the meringues and used my sister’s directions for piping, and they turned out perfectly!
For the nose, I used a pink nonpareil and using the tip of a toothpick dotted on black eyes with some cake icing.
Aren’t they just adorable?
I have a bunch of these sweet egg dishes that are the perfect size for chocolate mousse, and I thought the bunny would be a perfect garnish for my dessert. ย (By the way, using a baby spoon forces me to take smaller bites and make my dessert last longer. ย Otherwise, I’ll snarf it down. ย Oh, yes I would!)
Delish!
My sis suggested making the bunnies as an Easter cupcake garnish which I have to agree would be over-the-top cute. ย If you make these lovelies, link to me and let me see! Hope you’re having a great weekend!

Hi, I saw you were a new follower so I jumped over here to see what you are all about. I love your house transformation story. What a leap of faith-and it paid off. Now these bunnies are just too cute. I'm going to show my daughter to see if she wants to give it a try. TFS. Sandra @sawdustandpaperscraps
Beth- I think these little guys are going to be on my to-do list after we color our eggs! They are just too cute. LOL- Even though we have no little kids around, we decorate a couple dozen eggs, just the same! Nothing wrong with spicy deviled eggs the next day…
hugs, Sue
Those are too cute! And look really tasty too. ๐
My goodness they are adorable!
They are adorable! I love how they turned out.
I am impressed. You must have gotten your meringue exactly the right consistency to hold the delicate shapes of the ears, etc. Congratulations!—Mom

Holy smoke!! Those are awesome!!! I am in charge of sweets for Jemma's Easter party. Hmmmm… may have to give them a try! I would totally snarf down the chocolate mousse. Heck, I would snarf down two of those little bowls. Ok. Three or four, but I would only claim at least two!
These are so adorable! {and your pics are amazing!} I could totally do this recipe for my little guy. Thank yo so much for sharing…yeah! We found something else he can eat!!

You put Martha Stewart to shame sometimes this being one of them! So darn cute, Beth!
I eat with a small fork for the same reason…and I never use a soup spoon, always a teaspoon…..
Precious!! They do look like they came from a little boutique bakery. ๐ My girls would love those!

Too cute! Would look cute sitting in green coconut/Easter grass too, among some jelly beans @ an egg hunt! ๐ Oh, the possibilities.
LOVE them! They turned out great. Were they crisp all the way through or a little chewy?
Very, very cute! ๐
How adorable and delicious looking. I love store bought meringue cookies and I bet yours knock those out of the water.

Oh your bunnies are darling! What a great idea from your sister. I've made the marshmallow recipe but have never made a meringue. ..wondering if it's as hard as I'm imagining.
