A few weeks ago my little sister wrote on my facebook wall, “I’m holding you personally responsible for the 5lbs I’ve gained today from those chocolate chip scones.” Well, don’t hold me responsible! After all, it was temptress Jenni from Beautiful Nest who seduced us all with her voodoo-scone-charm in the first place! I am merely a brainwashed agent, proselytizing the ways-of-the-scone, drawing in converts, and packing on the pounds as I go!
So today, I decided to share some scone love with our beloved house-twin neighbors. Besides, they share their green beans and cucumbers with us, so it seemed only fair that in return I should contribute to their dessert demise. Amen?
I used Temptress Jenni’s recipe found here. (Tip: I decrease the cream to 1 cup and add more only if needed. Knead dough with hands first before adding more liquid and then add cream a tablespoon at a time. Dough should be dry and not wet.)
Once my dough was kneaded, I divided the batch evenly into three separate bowl. In one bowl, I added a small splash (1/2 t?) of lemon extract and mixed in fresh blueberries.
In the second bowl, I kneaded in some white chocolate chips and craisins.
And in the third bowl, I added chocolate chips. On a floured surface, I patted each flavor into a round pancake shape about 1/2 inch thick. Then, I cut each into fourths and placed all my little slices on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
Once cooled, I packaged the scones by twos in wax paper, tied the ends in twine, and attached one of these adorable free printables by Miss Cutiepie. I think I’ve made more scone converts in the process! Remember: I am merely the messenger spreading the scone message of love. If your butt is spreading, then that is an indication that it’s time to start spreading the scone love around! Go make some for your neighbors.

Seriously, STOP rubbing off on me. I have a reputation to uphold and cute domestic fabu baker is not one of them!
So I made these and I love you. Even delicious 12 hours later! And I'll be making another batch today….me thinks lemon blueberry.

These look yummy and are wrapped so pretty!
They certainly were delicious when I tried the recipe. Although my dough was definitely not dry enough. Will have to try them again. And my butt and stomach will say thank you!
The packaging is just too cute! I actually bought all the stuff to make the chocolate chip scones when you first posted about them. I never ended up making them. My kids ate all the chocolate chips. I guess I need to go back to the store and try again. 🙂
I had never made scones, until this weekend, my son asked for scones instead of a birthday cake or dessert. I could definitely get in trouble if I had these around. They were so simple and too good. Jackie
Oh no, I had forgotten about these and now I really feel like I need to make them and eat them all myself! LOL!
I should really try these. White chocolate chips… mmmmmmm….. yummy!
They look delicious and I love how you have them packaged! Thanks, Beth!

I will just say "ditto" to what everyone else said…SO cute and delicious looking!
I wish I was your house-twin!!!!!!
Those scones are wonderful!! I made some a while ago and then promptly hid the recipe until company comes. As long as I don't go looking for it in the meantime, I'll be alright! Those labels are really cute too!
These are adorable and I love the labels! Too cute!
I haven't put on any scone pounds yet, but my son is asking me to do so. Frankly, I haven't been able to afford to add anything to my fattening repertoire lately, having just finished birthday cake.
I LOVE those printables; thank you for passing those along. And you are brilliant to wrap the scones in wax paper tied with twine like that–they look so old-worldly, so romantic. . . and so delicious! Wow.
