Holy Moley! That's a HUGE bed! I laughed at someone's idea to just put it on the floor. That's hilarious, but would probably work great.
It's nice to know that with all you've been through, you still have a sense of humor!
Love and kisses,
Jude at

P.S. Come read about my latest saga with the mouse — you know how much I relate to everything you've had to deal with, but remember that even though princes can get on your nerves, it's still wonderful to have one!
LOVE this "story" 🙂 I too want to see how the fitted sheets will "fit" 🙂 Looks ooooooo soooooo comfyyyyyy tho!!!!
oh and I am giving you the Cherry on Top award too cause you inspire me 🙂

hilarious! my mattress is about 18 or 19" and completely dwarfed the first headboard i purchased, so i completely understand your pain. no worries, just means it's time for a new bed! 🙂
Wow…that is some mattress. I know you will make it look lovely and I'm sure it is amazing to sleep on. (Just so you don't think I've been absent, I have been reading along all this time, but I didn't have anything brilliant to say about your bug problem. I don't handle bugs so well….makes me itch just thinking about it! Glad everything is ok now.)
Ah… It looks so comfy! Good pick!!!
XOXO
Jen
Oh my, that's hilarious! It does look comfy though!
Holy Toledo Princess! Don't bang your head on the ceiling, when you're um,
bouncing with the kids, right, right.
Well now you can build a cute wittle step stool and decoupage it and give it a full blog post feature.
Its all about the blog, baby.
Oh my aching heart! I want that mattress! I think it's fun to have to jump into bed. Except for maybe when it's not. Like every time I'm really tired. Who happily jumps into bed anyway? 🙂
Love it, and loved the good laugh! 🙂
That made me laugh out loud because that could very easily happen in my house! Too funny! My husband says the same thing about me, that I could feel and complain about a pea under my mattress. Are you keeping your new mountain of a matress? Thanks for sharing, I needed a laugh today.
Now THAT is one awesome mattress.
I want one…:)
this looks very comfy, i will say that. and what a sweet prince to say as long as you are happy. however…lol. this is a big ass bed. you are gonna need a running start to get in!
girlfriend!!!
this is NO dilemma! i was there once. bed, bath & beyond has the deeper pocket sheets & ralph lauren. yes, a little more pricey but sooooo worth it as are YOU!
of course, i agree with funky junk donna (love her) – you will find other pieces of furniture to suit you along the way, LIKE YOU ALWAYS DO!!!!
this looks heavenly. you will never want to get out of bed! trust me.
sweet dreams, princess!
Love it! You just need a pretty set of wooden steps for it. Is there a way maybe to lower what the boxsprings sit on?
"be careful what you ask for" my mom always said. wow! that is an amazing mattress set.
we have a pillow top mattress & have to buy deep pocket sheets & finding them is like a needle in a haystack. if you have a source, pass it on to the rest of us.
(& we know you'll get the room all figured out & it will all be fabulous!)
wow – and your bed was dangerously high with the OLD mattresses! i can't even begin to imagine these ones on that bed. – guess the two little princes are going to need a cute permanent step stool beside the bed so they can come wake you up with millions of kisses every morning.
on another note – here's hoping it's a looooooong-time love affair with that mattress since it was purely your decision. either you'll have to live with it (if you later change your mind) – or relegate it to the "uncomfortable" guest bed, and let matt pick the next one for the master! ha!
Love the post although I do hope you're able to get in bed without having to pole vault into it. Have you tried a low profile box spring?
Hilarious!!!
The day I had the mattress guys bring mine up, I gasped and quite frankly stated, "I CAN'T KEEP THAT!!!!" It looked hideously rediculous in my eyes. Everything else reduced to barbie doll style furniture.
But now today with my revamped surroundings to suit, I wouldn't have it any other way. 🙂 In comparison, everyone else's bed looks like a rolled out camping mattress on the floor. Haha!!
Think of it this way. It's time to redecorate but of course. 🙂
Donna
Om my my! That thing is huge! Can't wait to see how you overcome that. Looks super comfy!
Methinks a room re-do is in thou's future…..
Love the bed!!!! 🙂
Well, look, here's your problem. You've got 3 mattresses sitting on that bed frame! Oh. That's all part of ONE mattress?
Ha! You've got several conundrums here, Beth. Lamps, end table, sheets ~ if you sit up in bed do you hit the chandelier? : ) I could never sleep with a mattress like that. I'm afraid of heights.
What a quandary! Should we be happy for you or somewhat, softly sad? I know whatever you do it will look great!
Beth,
I too am in the midst of shopping for a new mattress. Brian and I have had some of our WORST fights in the middle of the night because of too little room on our full sized bed. So we are buying a new king sized one. But I'm also concerned about price. I've never had a brand new bed before so this is sort of new for me. Any suggestions?
Oh and I too love soft plushiness. LOVE THE BED!
Well, I too am a girl with a HIGH bed {temperpedic} and then put my bed on risers {from Bed Bath and Beyond} sooo I would say to the princess maybe you could evevate your bedside tables and cover them with fabric so you wouldn't see said risers… OR look for taller pieces… We have an old sewing machine cabinet {which is pretty darn tall} on one side of our bed… Wait the princess wasn't asking for my two cents… I do think the matress looks WONDEFRFUL and COMFY, if ANYONE can make it work it would be the princess… the end.
Ours wasn't quite this high….but it is one of those problems no one tells you about! Maybe get rid of the "topper"?
Mattress is foam, right? We love ours and have never slept better…
So glad your nightmare is over; we were all thinking of you.
Oops.
So much for the idea of "fitted sheets," huh? Target carries some sheets that will accommodate a mattress up to 20" deep, I think. And I'm sure you can find some lovely swing-arm lamps to attach to the wall by your throne (oops!) bed. But as for getting up there? Hmmm. Maybe if you eat enough crow you'll be able to fly?
I think it looks just lovely…made for for a princess 🙂
Enjoy your new bed. Take care~ Susie
I think it's a great excuse to go shopping for a little ladder or stool to help hoist you up 🙂 Or Perhaps a pulley system to go across the ceiling?
I'm in fix-it mode…and my first thought was: "couldn't you get rid of the pieces that support the box spring, and just set the box spring on the floor?" That would at least help the height issue. Then maybe a bedskirt would hide your 'trick'.
As for sheets…good luck! But the bed looks soooooooo comfy!! When you jump/climb in, does it feel like a bag of marshmallows is enveloping you?!
By the way, how's the job hunt situation going for your husband? I'll be keeping you in my prayers for the Lord's provision.
Oh my stars and hearts!!!! That is too funny! The same thing happened when we bought our daughter's big girl bed! You can't even see the fancy headboard because her pillows go above it! You will be a princess in that bed! Two words… stepping stool!!!!
Did you get a Dux? Looks marvelously comfy though. This princess may or may not have one time purchased a green leather sofa, that, according to the 2 inch swatch of fabric was going to be perfect for the other colors of her house. It was a horrific shade of green, that left me eating crow for….well….I guess I still am!!!
