I love chocolate. Sure Beth, who doesn’t like chocolate? No. I don’t think you understand. I LOOOOVE it! I’m really not sure that a day in my life has gone by since the tender age of three where some form of chocolate wasn’t consumed. If I was on a desert island and could only have one thing, it would have to be chocolate. Okay, maybe clean water and some mascara too, but chocolate would surely trump mascara. I am practical after all :).
In times of desperation, I’ve been known to drink Hershey’s Syrup and eat handfuls of chocolate chips in order to get my fix. When we were on vacation in Indonesia where good chocolate doesn’t seem to exist, I walked treacherous streets with no sidewalks and risked dying from smog inhalation in order to find the local mall and score a Snickers bar. I am nothing short of an addict. So in celebration of my addiction Chocolate Day, I thought we could explore some fabulous chocolate together!
My Favorite Chocolates
I have blogged about my favs numerous times before!
- Nobody knows the truffles I’ve seen– My review and rating of several great dark chocolate bars.
- Chocolate Bliss– The best chocolate cake recipe with chocolate buttercream frosting that I have found to date.
- French Hot Chocolate– This recipe is awesome. Put it in steamed milk. Put it in your coffee. Put it in your mouth. It’s awesome.
- Sweet Treats– I have a linky on my sidebar that looks like the icon below. I would say 99% of the treats listed include some form of chocolate and all have my seal of chocolate addict approval!
Beth… I'm making that chocolate cake with my pregnant friend next week. I cannot wait!!!!
Chocolate, my weakness! When desperate, I go for a dark chocolate Dove Promise or dip some strawberries in No Sugar Added Nestle Quick (dry mix). My favorite cake is Chocolate Texas Sheet Cake. It has a fudge frosting! My favorite chocolate shop (so far) is in the Galleria in Houston,TX. They have an almost life size chocolate bear on display. Can't remember the name of the store but it is on the level with the ice rink.
haha.love the picture in the chocolate tub;) This post was NOT good for my diet! I think I will have to try that cake recipe soon!
I absolutely love chocolate too, but I can't eat much of the darker variety because it gives me migraines. Speaking of chocolate, have you ever seen the movie "Chocolate" (spoken with a french accent) with Johnny Depp? One of my favorites…I know…it's not like eating chocolate, but it is a good movie! 🙂
Um . . . I don't like chocolate. Weird, huh?
Lets have a Mommy date at a chocolate bar mmmk? Deal. Date. Consider it done.
🙂
Beth this post is giving me a craving. You are amazing at finding the coolest things to post on. Gorgeous photos! Yum-O!
PS Check out my weight loss and new haircut photos when you have time. I finally got brave last week. Yikes!
I need some chocolate now!
Oh my. This post is dangerous to read! (in a delicious way) Now I need a piece of chocolate.
Oh my dear heaven. I. love. chocolate. I have been known to eat chocolate chips from my baking cabinet too. 😉
Love the balanced diet comment!!! And how could you be so mean and tease me with all this decadence…. HMMMM? I have no chocolate in my house. JK! There is a reason why? I would have it all eaten by the end of the day. Not good for a girl who looks at chocolate and gains weight. HA! hope your night is great. Jenn
We used to have a little Chocolatier here that made chili chocolate truffels to absolutely die for! I so wish she was still here I get terrible cravings for it. (I think our love for chocolate could make us soul sisters.) I have found Lindt Chili Dark Chocolate bars and they are pretty good.
Your BEST post ever!!! 🙂
I don't put much effort into my obsession with chocolate (other than to get some when I'm at the store). I love Hersheys Nuggets with toffee. They are great for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Very mouth watering! You made me feel like chocolate now 😛
Hmm…I LOVE chocolate but I have to say Beth, you are more the coniseurer than I probably will ever be. One of my favorites is Sponge candy and I have only ever found it in Erie, PA (hometown). A fabulous dessert is Death by Chocolate and if you don't have the recipe, email me and I will give it to you.
a good dark chocolate bar is a must, filled with goodies like almonds and berries!!
endangered species chocolate is yummy- available at health food stores. also chocolove is awesome!
i also love a peanut butter spoon! spoonful of peanut butter with chocolate chips pressed into it!
I love chocolate and it is all my husbands fault. When I married him I didn't it it much. Now, like you, I have to have some each day. Weird.
I even melt chocolate chips in a cupcake muffin paper, then add a blob of Jiff PB in the center, and carefully cover it with some melty chocolate. Pop it in the freezer for 5mins and you have yourself a fantastic imitation of a Reeses PB Cup! Yes, addicted I tell you!
Wow you are really an addict. I love it. I know I am a chocoholic but you like TRUMP me.
OMG that Francois looks so divine… i want i want i want!!!!!!
My favorite chocolates are French Truffles from Trader Joes. Dove Dark chocolate bars. Extreme MooseTrack Ice Cream. Death by Chocolate-ColdStone. Any Godiva Chocoalte but especially their chocolate covered fruits.
YUMMY
Sounds like this is a chocaholics anonymous meeting… I'd just like to say : Hi, my name is Taija, and I'm a chocoholic, AND I don't want to quit.
Here's one of my favorite chocoholic secrets:
Melt together in microwave: 1 C chocolate chips and 1 can sweetended condensed milk. It's instant hot fudge, brownie topping (it'll set up like fudge) the possibilities are endless!!
The Trader Joe's pound bar… 72% dark. It's unreal. I eat three squares for a low calorie but awesome treat.
I love chocolate, but for the last few years it seems too much milk choclate makes me sick quickly, luckily I love really good dark chocolate. I mean dark, dark, dark chocolate. Yum! Trader Joe's always has a nice selection of good dark chocolate . . . and for reasonable prices too!
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Once again, I know we are meant for each other. I have been known to do the same things just for a fix, and I'm pretty sure I would choose chocolate over world peace–if I HAD to. Great pictures!

Make this cake. You will thank me.
I haven't had breakfast yet, but I think I know what I will have! Great post!

This may sound rather pedestrian, but I swear it's wonderful: Russell Stover's Nut, Chewy, and Crisp Centers. A one-pound box is less than $10, and every single candy in the box is yummy. Every one. No duds. A mix of dark and milk chocolates. Ummmm.
mmmmm 🙂
I'm pretty easy, Beth! I love to have a plain ole Hershey Milk Chocolate bar. And I usually have some form of chocolate every day! If it's not my Hershey bar it is either a Klondike Bar or, I bought a Breyers ice cream for the weekend that was vanilla with chocolate so I've been adding that into the alternating mix. I prefer a chocolate food over a chocolate drink. Okay. Now I want some and I don't know if I can wait until I get home from the day job!!
I'm drooling right now! Thanks Beth. I love The Melting Pot!! It's a great place for Fondue!! I have a small piece of dark chocolate every night after the kiddos go to bed.
mmmmm, I keep a bag of chocolate chips in the pantry for emergencies.
Ah yes, chocolate… my very favorite desserts are both from the original Julia Child Volume I. Chocolate Mousse and Chocolate Souffle!!! These are the originals, the best, and nothing else compares!
