If you are not on Twitter and don’t even understand what all the buzz (or tweets) is (are) about, I recommend you sign up and see! It’s sort of like facebook…but different. Remember how difficult it was to understand why facebook needed to be part of your life? But now you love it and aren’t really sure how you managed before without knowing that your second-cousin-twice-removed-is-stuck-in-a-long-line-at-Walmart? Well, Twitter is bound to be somewhat similar. I don’t tweet with friends who I know in real life. My tweets are mostly with all of you—-my bloggy friends! Check it out. Tons of us are on there and all of the “big bloggers” are represented. It’s fun. Join. And if you want to follow me, just click on the twitter cartoon on the right. Come on. I know you’re just dying to know what I’m eating and drinking through out the day! I promise not to spare any details. Just kidding…kind of.
DIY Customized Twitter Background
Okay, now for the rest of you that are on Twitter and want a cute background for your page. I know you’re going to be shocked by this, but I recommend that you use scrapblog.com. Oh how I wish I was on the payroll for all the times I mention scrapblog, but sadly I am not. I just love their site, and when I love something I share it with you!
Step 1: Log onto Scrapblog and use their backgrounds and stickers to create a new Scrapblog. Keep all of your graphics to the far left of the page. Anything in the middle of your photo will be covered by your tweets.
Step 2: Publish and save your photo and then click under “File” and “Export as jpeg”. Save the file to your computer.
Step 3: Log onto Twitter and click on “Settings”. Then click on the “Design” tab. I chose a design that complimented my photo colors.
Step 4: Still on the design tab click on “Change Background Image”. You will now be able to upload your image. Make sure the “tile” button isn’t checked, and upload.
Step 5: Click on “Save Changes” at the bottom of the page.
Step 6: Admire your page! You’re done.
Step 7: If this made no sense to you or didn’t work, click here for a tutorial by Rebecca from Scrapblog! She takes you through step-by-step as well and has pictures to guide you.
Also, I’m hosting a Stare at My Staircase Party on November 18th. Hope you’ll join in! Click here for details.

Hey, I'm a guy trying to make my own Twitter background. I liked your idea but scrapblog looked pretty feminine. What other sites exist that have similar functionality but more masculine themes?

Thanks for the comment yesterday! 🙂
I LOVE your new background…so cute!
Thanks also for a great tutorial. Whenever I get some free time, I'm definitely gonna have to try it out.

No way! That's awesome. I just added a Facebook page for my blog, and have been considering Twitter…even though I swore I'd never Tweet. Ahhh those trends…they always get the better of you :).
Thanks for the tutorial!

Hey girl, it's Courtney from One Fine Blog Design. I'm noticing that your favicon has strangely changed.
If you would like me to reset it, let me know! I just need your blogger info and I can change it really quickly.
Hope you are well!

I'm on and off Twitter. I think this is great! If I didn't do mine for my business, I might play around with different backgrounds like this. I love yours though ~ you look so good!

Man, I just can't bring myself to do Twitter. I've never done Facebook or MySpace or anything like that, but I love blogging. Maybe I'll have to give in and look into what it's about. Thanks!
