As kids prepare to launch back to school and the change of seasons is upon us, you too might be feeling the urge to prepare the home for friends and family who we missed dearly in 2020. It’s a great time to ready the guest room, freshen up the bathrooms, and organize all the things!
I always find myself ready to purge, declutter, and organize this time of year, but sometimes I forget to share with you the progress photos along the way! A few months ago, I shared my bedroom makeover plans: Modern European Cottage Bedroom Makeover Mood Board. Although the bedroom makeover is far from complete, I wanted to share the progress we’ve made on our wall closet wardrobes. I’ll share in a different post our process of building the wardrobes, so stay tuned for that!
These wardrobes still need to be caulked, painted, and hardwared, but beautiful progress has been made and storage solutions have been found–thanks to Walmart! I frequently shop Walmart Home for their wide selection of stylish and affordable home decor. Walmart has quick shipping and their online customer service and return policy is fantastic! The few times I’ve had an issue with an item, or order, they have always gone above and beyond to rectify it. This week, I found so many cute closet organization solutions online including the following. Click and scroll on the gallery of pictures below to shop for items!

Closet Organizers & Storage Solutions
The first step in making sure all of my odd items have a home was to find baskets that fit my top shelves and worked for my storage needs. I was thrilled to find these woven cube baskets in sets of four. The cube baskets are the perfect size for the shelves. I also purchased two of these Hyacinth Magazine Baskets to store extra sheets and small wallets/clutches.
A few years ago, I gave my boys a closet makeover, Teen Boy Closet Makeover: Hanging Closet Organizers, and updated all of their hangers to wooden ones. I’ve been envious of their Better Homes & Gardens Wooden Hangers ever since and decided that it was time to upgrade my plastic mismatched hangers! I’ve also used the velvet hangers in the past but always seem to break those. Wood hangers are beautiful, durable, and functional for my needs. I still need to add some Wooden Clip Hangers to the mix, but for now I have a great start for my wardrobe. You can shop for affordable wooden hangers below!

To add some beauty to the back of my closet, I used one roll of NuWallpaper Black & White Sudbury Peel & Stick Wallpaper. This was a game changer in transforming the closet and the wallpaper was a DREAM to work with. It has a vinyl texture, is easily repositionable, and very easy to smooth and cut. I was able to paper the closet backs and inside of my pull-out tray in about 30 minutes. I highly recommend it!
Drawer Organizers and Dividers
I teach Zumba Fitness a few times each week, and my wardrobe consists of a myriad of leggings, sports bras, tanks, and athletic socks. To better organize my fitness gear, I purchased two sets of the Sorbus Set of 4 Foldable Drawer Dividers and 2 sets of the Mainstays 7-Section Drawer Organizer.
The Sorbus Set isn’t as nice of quality as the Mainstays Drawer Organizer but it does offer a ton of small compartment dividers which are perfect for accessories, ties, delicates, socks, headbands, jewelry, etc.
Here is a better look at the Mainstays Drawer Organizers. These will be perfect for keeping my sports bras and tanks better organized.
I used a Better Homes & Gardens Wooden Tray to corral a few decorative items just for show. I’m not sure yet if the tray will stay here or not, but adding a few fun and unnecessary decor items to your closet just looks nice!
