Chocolate Chip Scone Recipe
2 cups flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup chocolate chips
1 cup whipping cream (if dough is crumbly & too dry knead in a tiny bit more cream until right consistency is reached)
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. In mixing bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Add chocolate chips. Blend in whipping cream with a fork or spatula and add 1-2 T extra whipping cream if necessary. When mixed, turn out onto a floured surface and knead several times. Pat into a circle and either slice into triangles or use cookie cutters. Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet or on parchment paper (which I recommend) for 11-13 minutes.
For this batch of scones, I used my hugs and kisses and heart cookie cutters.
Does he look a little sad to you? Perhaps that’s because he can’t eat these scones since he has a gluten allergy. Poor baby! Don’t worry, I’m not a totally mean mommy. I made him a g/f treat too.
If you’re looking for a very easy yet special breakfast treat (or anytime of the day treat!), try this recipe! You won’t be disappointed. You might become addicted to it and put on 10lbs, but I take no responsibility for that!
Enjoy!

Yummy … wondering if Half and Half would work in place of the whipping cream? Any ideas? 🙂 Thanks!

I have been gluten free two weeks now- and I guess I could live this this way if it is life or death, but I am hoping I won't have too! I think I may try your scone recipe with some gluten free flour and see what I can come up with! I just posted a gluten free banana muffin post on my blog, and they turned out yummy! Thanks for sharing –

Love the cookie cutter idea. This would probably be a really easy substitution with a gf flour blend since the dough isn't worked like a bread. Your helper is adorable! Thanks for sharing.

I love to bake, but I've never tried making scones. Thanks for a recipe looks very do-able.
That picture of your little guy is too cute. He's like the perfect cross between your husband and you. I'm sorry he's allergic to gluten. Thank God there are more and more gluten-free products out there! Maybe you should host a gluten-free recipe linky party.
Have a great weekend!

Well, you tell that poor baby that I can't eat them either, Beth! Although, they do look delicious. I love scones. I wonder how it would translate with a GF flour? I may have to try that.
