Wreath Makeover

The Hunter household is on a budget freeze.  Not just a little budget chill, a frigid freeze, I tell you.  Like Antarctica-in-a-blizzard-floating-on-an -iceberg-think-I-just-saw-a-polar-bear type of budget freeze.  Therefore anything you see me do from here until….hmmmm….new job for hubby? I go back to work full-time? kingdom come? will be from “shopping the house”.

Below is a picture of my front porch.  I love it.  It fulfills my black and green whimsies and showcases my no-sew pillows.  But my front door was purpley-brown and needed a makeover.  It also needed a wreath.  The door was an easy fix with some black paint I had in the basement.  The wreath?  Well…I thought that was just going to have to wait until kingdom come.

However, I found this sad little creature below buried under some baby toys in the basement.  No, not my toe, although it’s a sad creature in need of a pedicure and has definitely spent it’s fair share of time buried under toys!  The wreath was the first I ever purchased around 6 years ago, and I almost tossed it in the trash.
But wait…what if we take this $.25 (yes!) letter H that I bought awhile back at the Christmas Tree Shop….
…put some cute black/white gingham paper on it and hang it with a coordinating ribbon?
Much better!  Maybe shopping from the house isn’t so bad after all.  Especially if your house is well stocked in craft supplies :).

  5. What a great example you are to shop in your house and not be embittered by the financial decrease. God will so honor that.
