Do you need help organizing your closet space? These 15 IKEA PAX hacks will help jumpstart your closet design!
We are currently in the process of making over our bedroom and if you missed my master makeover plans be sure to catch up on them here: Modern European Cottage Bedroom Makeover. Due to a severe lack of walk-in closet space, we are adding a wall of IKEA PAX wardrobes to create more storage. To gather inspiration for our design, I’ve been pouring over IKEA PAX ideas on Instagram. You can find me on the Gram here if you’re not already following me. I share some fun behind-the-scenes stories on there that you might like to see. Here are some of my favorite IKEA PAX designs! 1. IKEA PAX Hack by The Sweetest Digs
Gemma created a beautiful, built-in pax wardrobe for her master bedroom. She primed/painted the wardrobe, added trim, and upgraded the hardware using long gold pulls. You can find her full tutorial in her post, including the perfect primer that you need to paint basically any IKEA furniture piece!
2.IKEA PAX Hack by Crazy Wonderful
Shelley transformed her master bedroom closet into a gorgeous, organized room that anyone would be proud to call her own! I love the added trim at the top of the wardrobes which create a unified and custom look. Shelley gives great tips on how to anchor each piece together to ensure that shifting does not occur over time.
3. Mudroom IKEA PAX Hack by Marly Dice
Marly transformed her mudroom into an organized and practical space that they use and love! She used two PAX cabinets and connected them with a bench and upper cabinets. Her post contains a full tutorial that will be of great benefit to you if looking to do something similar!
4. Corner IKEA PAX Hack by And Christina
Christina added cabinets on top of her PAX and upgraded the knobs to brass knockers. Great inspiration for a corner cabinet!
5. Coat Closet IKEA PAX by Driven by Decor
Kris’s new closet reminds me of a chic storefront. The vertical garment rods are such a fun and stylish change. The upgraded hardware and custom trim elevates the space. Kris also took the time to plug all of the unused shelf pin holes which gives the closet a cleaner look. You can find all of her great tips and more information in the post!
6. IKEA PAX Hacks by singinginthereno
This is an absolutely gorgeous IKEA PAX paint transformation from Alex over on Instagram. You can find all the sourcing information and paint color used over on her Instagram account.
7. IKEA PAX Hacks by thee.wolfs.den
Megan and Jack built a frame around their PAX cabinets, so the cabinets basically sit on top of solid wood and are anchored all around the frame to the wall. This is especially useful in an older home where the floors are not completely level. You can find the full tutorial in their Insta “stories” under IKEA PAX. The oversized pulls were an ebay find! Amazing job!
8. Bedroom IKEA PAX Hack by number_twentyseven
Trim, paint, and hardware make the PAX system pop! You can find a few videos of this installation over on Ciara’a Instagram account, as well as in her saved story highlights. Gorgeous inspiration!
9. Dressing Room IKEA PAX Hack by prettylittleterrace
Esther lives in an old Victorian home that they have beautifully renovated. In her dressing room, she used monochromatic paint to blend the look of her existing older cabinets with the new IKEA PAX cabinets. Perfect idea to borrow when incorporating new and antique cabinetry into the same space!

This particular hack is perfect for those who have a similar style roofline. This design is perfect for utilizing that awkward space!
11. IKEA PAX Hacks by belgraviatownhouse
These IKEA PAX cabinets were left by the previous homeowners, so Anna made them her own by customizing them with trim and a quartz-topped vanity.
12. IKEA PAX Office Organization by Just a Girl and Her Blog
Abby has several informative IKEA PAX blog posts, but I wanted to showcase this one for those needing non-clothes storage solutions. What a great way to store gift wrap! Abby added crown molding trim around the tops of her cabinets to give them a built-in appearance.
13. Wall of IKEA PAX by The Ranch We Love
This post is incredibly helpful for those looking to build a wardrobe wall. The HEMNES doors look fabulous and help streamline the entire look. To give a more cohesive and built-in appearance, trim was added around the cabinets.
14. Small Closet IKEA PAX Makeover by The Happy Housie
Krista placed her IKEA PAX cabinet directly into her small closet! This is a brilliant hack for adding custom closet organizers to a small space.
15. IKEA PAX Vanity Makeover by Jenna Sue Design
By adding peel and stick wallpaper, you can make the inside of a PAX system stand out! Jenna’s cabinet is functional and so cute!
