Home Stories A to Z Best DIY Projects of 2014

Hi friends! I trust you had a Merry Christmas! I’ve been a bit MIA lately as I took time off of blogging to celebrate the holidays with my family. If you are a regular reader here, I want to say a heart-felt thank you for an amazing 2014. I appreciate each and every like, share, comment, and repin that you send my way.  With the new year right around the corner, it is a good time to stop, pause, and reflect on all that was accomplished on my blog in 2014. It’s always fun to look back and see all the decorating and fun the blog has brought into my life over the last year! Here are my favorite blog projects and moments from 2014.

1. Master Bedroom Makeover

Last February, I finally completed redecorating our master bedroom which included new flooring, a DIY plank wall, a new bed and new furnishings. It was a dramatic makeover and my favorite of the year. Be sure to click the link for all of the pictures if you missed it!

2. Craft Room Makeover

Having a dedicated office space that makes me smile is a simple luxury that I don’t take for granted. This year my craft room/office received a girly makeover in PINK and gold! I love how light and bright it is in my office now. It’s easy to be inspired in a place that feels so fun and feminine.

3. Budget Master Bathroom Makeover

Our master bath is one of my least favorite rooms in the house. The beige tile makes the room look a bit dated and the corner shower is much too small. If my budget were endless, I would honestly gut the entire thing and start from scratch! But while I’m waiting for the endless-budget-truck to arrive, I decided to change the paint color, mirrors, and accessories instead. Those small changes brightened and refreshed the space, making it feel much more open and airy. 5. Lowe’s Creative Ideas Projects

I have worked with Lowe’s as one of their Lowe’s Creative Ideas Bloggers for the last three or four years now, and I always love their challenges. Lowe’s pushes me to think outside the box and come up with obtainable results. Here are some of my favorites from this year:

7. Blog Events

Every year, I am honored to participate in blogger events and meet up with my friends and fellow bloggers. Haven is a blogging conference that takes place in Atlanta each summer, and I am one of the Haven Conference Team coordinators. Haven is always a highlight of the year for me!

8. Decorating!

My favorite blog posts to write focus on decorating. Yes indeed, I also enjoy crafting, organizing, recipes, and DIY projects but the thing that gets my heart-racing, the thing that makes me feel “in the zone”, is when I simply decorate my home for the seasons or for the everyday! I run a “How to Decorate” series in early summer and it’s a wealth of information. You can click the link below for one of my most popular “how to decorate” posts in 2014.
