New Addition to the Family

I am so excited!  And no, I am not pregnant, but I do believe that I have a certain glow about me right now.  

Okay, so that’s not me.  That is Gwyneth Paltrow. (Love her!)  But if my inner excitement could match my outer appearance, then I would look exactly like Gwyneth right now.  What could make me so radiant and happy you ask?  Well, if you have been reading my blog since August, then God bless you because that is a lot of me to deal with you know that I have wanted one of these babies below for-like-evah!

I asked for this camera here and here, and I whined about it too many times to link, so let’s just put all my collective camera bee-atching here .

Last week, I was on Twitter. Oh yeah.  I’m cool like dat.  I can tweet with the best of ’em, so feel free to follow me.  And Kasey from Lola B’s tweeted that she was selling her Canon Rebel XT, with Lens mind you, for an insanely reasonable price.  I dare not tell you what said insanely reasonable price was because all of you will hate me.  And although I am actually quite accustomed to people hating me, I’m just not up for the drama right now.  Where were we?  Oh yes, Kasey tweeted, and I think instead of Gwyneth….at that moment I was looking something like this…

Kasey has a bazillion followers, so I knew the chances of me being the one were slim.  But at that moment the trumpets sounded, the heavens parted, and… 
I
 was 
chosen. 
Aaa♪aaa♫aaa♩aaaaah♬hhhhhhh….   

Cue glowyness.

I haven’t received the camera yet, but I am thrilled that you will no longer have to endure crappy, dark, yellowy photos.  It comes pre-blessed with Kasey’s amazing photography abilities, so I have no doubt that the camera will do all the work for me and continue to make her Momma proud.  
Oh, and by the way, if you don’t believe me, go visit Lola B’s for yourself.  Her pictures are all like something out of a dreamy magazine, and the girl can make lampshades out of knee highs.  Knee highs!?

I know that all you can think of right now is the tacky leg lamp from “A Christmas Story”, but trust me, these lamp shades are chic and adorable and look nothing like a leg.  Go check them out.

Uh, Beth, congrats on the camera and all, but I thought this was a decorating blog???

Don’t worry friends.  I’m busy painting and spray painting, so I should have something pretty and transformed to show you soon!  In the meantime, I invite you to bask in my glow.  Can you bask in someone else’s glow?  Does it work that way?  Ah well, you’re invited to anyway.

    I have a new Canon G11 I received for Christmas from my sweet parents. I still know next to nothing about how to use all the features it has though. Shame on me…HeHe!

  9. I'd be glowing too. That is, if I were YOU!!!!!! But since I'm me, I will continue taking pictures with our point and shoot digital, which happens to have avocado smeared on the lens at this very moment courtesy of my toddler. That's what I get for trying to stand close up when I took a close- up!

  14. That is awesome!!! I totally understand the desire for a good camera. I have to hold my breath (literally) when I take a photo with my little point and shoot camera or else it comes out blurry. I'm going to save up my little pennies and be on the lookout for something new.

  17. Rock on sister friend! So glad that you were the lucky one! I'm hoping some of that heaven-parting-ness comes my way as my birthday is in a couple weeks and all I want is a new camera. I too am tired of my yellow-too-dark-crapola photos.
